Increase earning by using Matched content feature of Google AdSense

Yes, we can increase our earning by using the matched content feature of Google’s AdSense. Google tested and introduced this feature to compete with already popular such applications like Outbrain and Taboola. So, here is all about the matched content feature of Google

About Matched Content Feature

Google’s Matched content is a free recommendation tool that offers a simple way to promote our web content to our site visitors. By using this feature eligible user can promote their web content to the readers that’s relevant to them, by doing this user can increase site’s page views, the time spent on your site, reader loyalty, ad impressions and ultimately ad revenue.

The content recommendations are based on topic similarity and are personalized for the reader. As per Google’s experiments, it shows that average Content recommendations increase the number of pages viewed by 9% and the time spent on the site by 10%.

For Matched content units, we have to choose the pages on which we would like the recommendations to appear, then AdSense promotes the articles on your site that are most relevant to the readers of those pages. In addition, depending on your site, we may also be able to show ads in between our recommendations and by doing this we can increase our earnings by showing matched content of recommended pages.

Some important things to know about Matched content units

  • It brings relevant content to the attention of our users, which can help to increase page views and time spent on our website.
  • We can place Matched content units on any of the pages on our eligible sites.
  • Recommendations are within site, for example, if we have two websites abc.co.uk and xyz.co.uk, then the recommendations that Google generates for each site will be internal to that site. Note that we only generate recommendations from pages that have Google ads or Matched content units on them.
  • These units work on mobile, tablet and desktop.
  • For sites where the majority of articles don’t have an image, Matched content units will display in a text-only format.
  • Ads are only available for sites that can be well monetized.
  • The AdSense program policies still apply to pages containing Matched content units.
  • They are not eligible for use in experiments.

If you own multiple websites
