Tata Sky has stopped broadcasting of all the channels of Sony Pictures and TV Today Network, which is causing the anger of customers not seeing the KBC program or other favourite serials like Tenali Rama, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah etc. Tata Sky had said that channels from Sony Pictures and TV Today will not be shown from next month. But yesterday suddenly the leading DTH service stopped broadcasting these channels.
Although the Aaj Tak released an official e-mail, said that the service will continue to broadcast in Tata Sky at no extra charge.

Tata Sky has a deal with many channels like Sony. But instead of broadcasting the channel a few days ago, a message was being displayed to give the users a missed call to their toll-free number. Many users on the social media complained that the Miss Call service is also not working.

The entry of Reliance Industries into the DTH sector through Jio GigaFibre has started a huge competition in the DTH sector. Tata Sky, the country’s largest DTH company, has initiated the fight by discontinuing the broadcast of more than 100 channels on its network since September 23, but later this deadline had been made next month. In this regard, Tata Sky also informed the public about this in advertisements in newspapers.
On 9 September, the DTH service had issued a disconnection notice to TV18 Broadcast and Turner International India due to non-renewal of an agreement. The DTH operator had stated that the TV18 and Turner channels distributed by IndiaCast Media Distribution will cease to be on the platform 15 days from the date of the notice.
Incidentally, IndiaCast Media Distribution had also issued a disconnection notice to Tata Sky due to non-signing of agreement on behalf of TV18, Viacom18, Turner International India and Eenadu Television.
IndiaCast has a bouquet of 68+ channels including 17+ HD channels spanning across various genres including general entertainment, kids, news, music, infotainment, and movies in India.
Tata Sky is a leading DTH platform in the country after Dish TV/Videocon d2h combine with 25% share of the active pay DTH subscribers market of 67.53 million.
According to a Crisil report, Tata Sky’s net profit has zoomed to Rs 408 crore for the fiscal ended March 2018 as against Rs 8 crore in the previous fiscal.
