Step #1: Choose a Domain Name

The very first thing you’ll need to create a website is to have a domain name.

The domain name is the address of your website or you can say it’s your website name. That address is used by visitors when they try to find your site through their web browsers.

For example, the address of our website is studywarehouse.com, or you can also say that it’s our domain name. Similarly you need your own unique website name.

Domain name can cost anywhere from $10 to $50 a year. The usual price tag is around $15/per year

If you haven’t registered or chosen a domain name for your website, click on the below mention link for some tips and things that you need to consider, before buying a domain name.

In addition to having a domain name, you’ll also need website hosting (web hosting) too.

You can buy an affordable and reliable web hosting for new website(s) on Bluehost, which costs usually between $3.95/month for a single website and $6.95/month for unlimited website. The renewal price is $7.99/ month and $14.99/month respectively.

Rock vs Legacy, account management interface options on Bluehost

Bluehost offers two account management interface options; the original one is ‘Legacy’ control panel and ‘Rock’, an updated control panel designed for simplicity and ease of use. While management options are generally the same across interfaces, the location of certain settings may vary between the two. This article will also illustrate the difference between the interfaces so that you know which steps to follow when referencing our guide to create a wordpress website from scratch.

Legacy Account Management Interface

Once signed in, the difference between the two interfaces will be apparent. The first giveaway is the account navigation links. Legacy accounts will feature a horizontal navigation bar at the top of the screen, while Bluerock account users will see a vertical navigation menu on the left-hand side of the screen. Review the images above to see an example of both.

Step #3: Set Up WordPress Website (Through Web Host)

Once you have your domain name and web hosting ready to go, you’ll need to choose and install a website building platform (also known as CMS).

We recommend choosing WordPress since it’s easy to use and comes with thousands of free designs and add-ons (plugins) that make your website look professional and unique.

Setting up your WordPress website is easy, and your web host mostly does it for you.

Why WordPress? WordPress started as a blogging system, but it has evolved into a full content management system and so much more.

Step #4: Customize Your Website Design and Structure

Now it’s time to design your website with the help of some awesome themes.

WordPress themes are out-the-box design packages that change the way your entire website looks like. WordPress themes are interchangeable – you can switch from theme to theme easily.

Most importantly, there are thousands of free and paid WordPress themes available on the web.

I personally recommend you to go with Newspaper by tagDiv – WordPress Theme. It’s a complete theme.

Congratulations, you’ve just created a website from scratch and now You’re Ready to Launch!

Final Words!

Last But Not Least – Keep Improving Your Website!

As, you’ve just figured out how to create a website all on your own!
