Windows 10 Pro in S mode

Windows 10 Pro in S mode is a specific mode of Windows 10 Pro that offers a familiar, productive Windows experience that’s streamlined for security and performance. By exclusively using apps from the Microsoft Store and browsing safely with Microsoft Edge, Windows 10 Pro in S mode keeps you running fast and more secure day in and day out.

Windows 10 Pro

Windows 10 Pro is built for business

  • If your device is lost or stolen, BitLocker and BitLocker to Go put everything on lockdown, so no one else can access your systems or data.
  • Your Office files like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint automatically get stored in the cloud, which acts as a virtual online drive, so you can share and work on documents in real time.
  • Log in with Remote Desktop to use your Windows 10 Pro PC while at home, on the road, or anywhere there’s an internet connection.
Create your own private app section in the Windows Store for convenient access to the apps you need most.

Windows 10 Enterprise

Windows 10 Enterprise is designed to address the needs of large and midsize organizations by providing IT professionals with:

  • Advanced protection against modern security threats
  • Flexible deployment, update, and support options
  • Comprehensive device and app management and control

Windows 10 Education

Windows 10 Education builds on the security and update foundation found in Windows 10 Enterprise, but it focuses explicitly on providing tools for students, teachers, and administrators.

Comparison of Windows 10 Enterprise and Windows 10 Education

One notable difference of Windows 10 Education from Windows 10 Enterprise is the lack of ability to join Microsoft’s LTSB, the security-over-function update method.

Windows 10 Education is available only through academic licensing, and pricing is again based on volume. Where Enterprise was an upgrade from Windows 10 Pro, Education can also be an upgrade from Windows 10 Home.
