How to Turn a Job Into a Career

Example of Career vs. Job

To explain the example we consider two people which are also friends say Person-A and Person-B are a civil engineer. Person-A who seeks for a career. Meanwhile, his best friend, Person-B, is only looking for a job. By the end, Person-A has built some of the finest buildings using his skills, experience, and imagination, while Person-B has worked only on the old building.

Before modernism, many workers took up a single lifelong position, they are working on a place or in a single role or position in the workforce, and the concept of developing a career had little or no meaning. But with the increasing use of technology and the Internet, this mindset of workers has changed. And by the late 20th century, choices of different streams of education allowed planning a career from a very early stage in life.

“Career” by definition refers to a string of work performed over the long term, whereas a job is for short term. One may take up a job to fulfill his daily needs but it may not be the course of action he wants for his life. So a job is a short term.
